International Shipping Charges & Customs Duties

International shipping charges are calculated based on the total shipment value, which includes the invoice value, shipping charges, and any applicable customs declaration fees.

Customs and duty charges vary by destination country and are assessed as follows:

  • Saudi Arabia (KSA): Declaration fee of 0.15% of the shipment value, subject to a minimum of SAR 15 and a maximum of SAR 500. A 15% VAT will also apply, calculated based on the invoice value plus freight/shipping charges.

  • Qatar: Customs clearance fee of QAR 20, plus applicable Qatar Security Charges.

  • Oman & Kuwait: Customs and duties are estimated at 10% of the invoice value.

  • Bahrain: Customs and duties are estimated at 15% of the invoice value.

Please note that all customs duties, taxes, and clearance charges are determined by the destination country's customs authorities. The final amount, if applicable, will be communicated directly to the customer by the shipping courier prior to or upon delivery.

Customs Duties & Taxes

Customs duties, taxes, and any related charges are not included in product prices or delivery fees and are the sole responsibility of the customer.

All customs duties and taxes are assessed and levied exclusively by the destination country’s customs authority, in accordance with its applicable import laws and tariff regulations. These charges are outside the control of The Editor’s Market and our logistics partners and may vary from shipment to shipment.

For garment shipments, customs authorities may determine duties and taxes based on factors including, but not limited to:

  • Declared invoice value
  • HS code classification
  • Country of origin
  • Material composition (e.g., cotton, synthetic, or mixed fabrics)
  • Purpose of import (personal or commercial use)

As customs assessments are regulation-driven and discretionary, there is no fixed or guaranteed percentage for duties and taxes. Customs authorities may apply higher charges in certain cases, including:

  • Reclassification of HS codes
  • Reassessment of declared shipment value
  • Application of VAT/GST in addition to customs duty
  • Customs processing, clearance, or inspection fees

Additional charges may also apply, such as customs clearance fees, handling or inspection charges, or storage/demurrage fees in the event of clearance or payment delays.

As a general guideline, for GCC countries, customs duties and import taxes typically range between 5% and 10% of the invoice value. For Saudi Arabia, however, the applicable duties and taxes are generally higher, ranging from 15% to 20% of the invoice value. Actual charges will depend on the destination country's regulations and the final assessment made by customs authorities.

The final payable amount, if any, is determined only at the time of customs clearance and will be communicated directly to the customer by customs or via the shipping carrier.

We recommend that customers familiarize themselves with their local customs regulations before placing an order.

Qatar Customs Procedures (Personal Importation)

For shipments delivered to Qatar, please note the following customs requirement:

In the event of personal importation, the importer is required to present a valid Qatar ID, passport, or Residence Permit to the customs authority in order to complete the customs clearance process. Failure to provide the required identification may result in delays, additional charges, or non-release of the shipment.

Customs clearance procedures and documentation requirements are governed solely by the Qatar Customs Authority and are outside the control of The Editor’s Market and our logistics partners.

For more information, customers may refer to the official Qatar Customs guidelines on the clearance of imported parcels:
https://www.customs.gov.qa/English/Procedures/UnifiedGuide/Pages/ClearanceOfImportedParcels.aspx

We recommend that customers ensure all required documents are readily available prior to placing an international order to avoid any delays in customs clearance.
